What is up with this West Texas weather? It was 70 on Sunday, yesterday it rained, and today it's 30 and snowing. I don't get it. It also doesn't help that this town has no drainage system, so I had to drive through water that was up to the bottom of the doors of my van in places. At least the snow won't amount to more than slush with all the water...at least until tonight and tomorrow morning when it all turns to ice. Maybe they'll cancel school then and I'll have an extra day off! That would be cool. All the secretaries are sitting at their desks right now hoping for a PA announcement saying we can go home early. Oh, how I wish it were so!

Hey y'all. Sorry I haven't posted in quite awhile. Things are pretty busy here. I got the secretary job, so I've been doing the ol' 9-5 (or 8-5 in this case). I've been here since the beginning of January, and things are going well. The cubicle guys were just here putting up some extra shelving and such in my area. My boss Kim has been out of town for the first part of this week, and will be back in the office tomorrow afternoon.

Well, I'm going to cut this short as I am at work, and should therefore do some work. I will try to post more often though. Back to my Diet Dr. Pepper and document formatting.

Later.

Giong home, going home, going home! Yeah! We leave next Friday for Christmas time! Yeah!

Ok, 'nuff of that. I have a job interview tomorrow for a secretary position at the LISD main office. Which is good, since subbing positions haven't been rolling in.

Oh yeah, and be sure to visit my new page! I've started making fan videos (yes, I am a dork, but I am not alone). This is a big thing on the internet, esp. for Farscape. So, I've added a link to the right.

That's it for tonight. I'm gonna sit back and play some Lingo and Match Game on the Game Show Network Interactive. Later.

Tomorrow morning at 10am I have an appt for competency tests at the Lubbock ISD for Intro and Intermediate Windows and Intro to Word. I have to pass them to be considered for a Technology Manager position. I have no idea what this job entails, but after looking at the outlines for these tests, I am not too worried. It's things like creating a folder, inserting tabs in word, and shutting down the computer properly. As much fun as it is to sit around and watch Days of our Lives (there's a serial killer storyline, and they've killed off Jack and Abe!), and two daily episodes of Judge Judy, I would like to have some of my own money coming in, so that I can buy some of the things I want. Oh, to be able to just go shopping. I miss that feeling of not needing to go to the mall, but going anyway just to buy something. I do want to buy the new Farscape DVD, but that's $30-40 I don't have. (Yes, I am a big dork). I did preorder the new Sims expansion, so that will be my splurge this month.

Alright, I'm gonna go take out my contacts and get ready for bed.

Well, I called the Lubbock school district and have an appointment to come in and take competencies in Windows and Word. I looked at the website and what is required, and it's all very basic stuff. I'm excited. It sounds interesting. Technology Manager. I really don't know what all is required, but I'm sure I'll find out. Walmart called me too, and all they have available is temp positions from 5pm to 2am. I really do not want to work nights. So, I hope this pans out. We're getting along really well with just Steve's check, so any extra money will be great. Also, it's only 10 months, so I will have summers off to go back home.

Well, that's it from here. I guess it's back to watching Maury! The topic today is "We're getting married in 4 days...Is he cheating?" What a wonderful topic full of lie detector tests!

Unemployment is starting to grate on my nerves. My job interview last week didn't pan out. I've gotten a couple of call backs this week, but in one case the woman is out of the office until Monday, and the other just wanted me to email some references. So here I wait. I applied for a couple more positions on the TTU website this morning. I was hoping at least Wal-mart would call. It would be a paycheck. We're doing ok money-wise right now. Steve gets another check on the first. Life has been pretty slow.

Bored bored bored bored bored. That pretty much sums up my life as of late. I am actually looking forward to taking public transpo to wal-mart tomorrow. At least I'll be able to get out of the house.

Well, another couple of weeks gone. I'm still looking for a job. I rode the citibus to Wal-mart the other day and did not die. I picked up the new Nora Roberts/JD Robb book, Remember When. It's quite good, but it's taking me a while to read. I don't read as much as I used to just because I want them to last as long as possible. Money is starting to get tight. Steve gets his first paycheck in the middle of October, so that will help. I actually drove a little bit the other day. I haven't driven since we've been down here. It felt pretty weird. I guess my car isn't running. My mom turned in my plates and cancelled my insurance. There's really not much to post about. I got emails from Ellen and John. I'll have to email them back soon. It was good to hear from my cave people.

We're just sitting here watching Trading Spaces. I think I might go get some ice cream. It's strawberry with real strawberry chunks. Yep, that fixed it. I'm off to get some I.C. I will post again soon.

Oh my blog I've missed you! Summer is always a pain to get online and this summer was no different. Let's see if I can catch up (in synopsis form of course)

I got promoted! Well sort of. They finally gave a title to all the crap I did at the cave: Admissions Office Supervisor. We had pretty much an all new crew, plus our vets, and it was a good year. Except John S. was our manager, that was a little tough. I had to deal with lots of complaints about that. Anyway, my summer was cut short when Steve and I packed up and headed to Texas. That's right, I'm in Texas. And it is hot. It has been hot since we got here. I am still unemployed, and we just got DSL set up.

And that's about it. Wow, my entire summer consists of two major events. There's def. more, but it is late and I am tired.

Until next time (hopefully tomorrow)

It's my last day of internship! Woo! Anyway, it is a little sad, since I'm down to my last 20 minutes. But tomorrow I can sleep in. I can hardly imagine the bliss since it's been so long. And I can start making money again. That has definetely been sorely missed. Alright, I have to finish cleaning up my files and making the computer as it was when I started.
